The Uber-Bird

Uber-Bird

2003

(right wrist, inner)

I love birds. They symbolize freedom and I’ve always thought I’d love to be able to fly. I asked my ex-husband RJ, an artist, to draw me a picture of a bird with the characteristics of all birds. He used the face of a dove with the neck of a bald eagle, the wings of a hawk, the body of a sparrow and the fanned tail of a parrot. He made the tail to look like a lotus in bloom and added a tribal design on the bird’s back to go with my thigh.

I want to get it touched up to make the eyes a little bit rounder and reshade the wings, but other than that I still love it.
